BENISE’S “THE SPANISH GUITARâ€
TOO SEXY FOR INDIA
What Will Storrs Think?
The Spanish Guitar has been hailed as the Latin equivalent of such celebrated music and dance spectacles as
Riverdance and
Celtic Women; only hotter. At least that’s what India is saying. At a recent event at Jaipur Palace (The Pink City) in India, Benise’s band and dancers were escorted off the stage, as the dancers costumes were too risqué. Benise was scheduled to perform seven songs, but after the fifth song,
Bamboleo, the band was told their show was over. Ironically, it was these 'sexy' costumes that won an Emmy Award in the United States.
Benise and his PBS Emmy® award-winning cast bring their epic tale of music, passion, and dance to the Jorgensen stage. Brilliant choreography, orchestral pieces, and video from his travels will take you on a journey through time to exotic worlds gone by. Rarely is an artist as capable of touching the hearts and souls of people of all ages, cultures, and diverse musical backgrounds as Roni Benise.
Benise will give away one signed ‘limited edition’ guitar at the end of his tour. This will be administered via an enter-to-win opportunity in the lobby both nights of the performance.
