British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello — who got his start in the days of early punk and new wave — is embarking on his first major set of headlining solo dates in a decade with 13 intimate performances on the east coast, including a stop at UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts in Storrs. Costello's recent solo dates have become the stuff of legend, with reactions ranging from "Mesmerizing" and "Spellbinding (OC Register) to "Impassioned" and "Breathtaking" (Arizona Republic) to "altogether stunning" (San Diego Union Tribune).
“… one of the most innovative, influential, and best songwriters since Bob Dylan.” - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic.com
"In a day where the word legend is so freely used in the music industry to describe some quite mediocre talents, only in a handful of cases does the description fit and Costello is certainly one of them." - Wales Online
'Wise Up Ghost,' the collaborative album from Costello and The Roots, comes out September 17th on Blue Note Records. The album was produced by longtime Roots associate Steven Mandel along with Costello and Questlove.
