The worldwide pandemic involving COVID-19 (coronavirus) has produced unprecedented challenges in the UConn community and around the world. These unusual circumstances create significant uncertainty and unease in the professional and personal lives of our students, employees, alumni, and others throughout UConn Nation.

UCONN'S JORGENSEN CENTER CANCELS ALL REMAINING SPRING EVENTS

Due to Executive Order 7 made by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont on March 12, prohibiting gatherings of 250 or more through April 30, Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts will be cancelling the remaining 2019-2020 season performances. 

"The health and safety of our patrons is our utmost priority as the risk of contracting this virus grows daily," said Rodney Rock, Director of Jorgensen. "While we regret the need to cancel these events, the decision was an informed one." 

UConn has been working closely with the state Department of Public Health, the state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the Office of the Governor and the Eastern Highlands Health District. 

The following ten Jorgensen Center performances have been cancelled:  
  • Sat, Mar 14          The Chieftains
  • Tues, Mar 24       Cinderella - Russian National Ballet
  • Fri, Mar 27           Kristin Chenoweth
  • Sat, Mar 28          Asian Nite 
  • Tues, Mar 31        Arcis Saxophone Quartet
  • Thurs, Apr 2         Complexions Contemporary Ballet
  • Sat, Apr 4             Neil Berg's 50 Years of Rock & Roll
  • Wed, Apr 15         Isabel Leonard, mezzo-soprano
  • Sun, Apr 19          Angelina Ballerina the Musical
  • Wed, Apr 22         Matt Haimovitz & Simone Dinnerstein

All ticket holders to the events listed above will receive a refund. The refund process is as follows: 
  • If you paid with a credit card, a refund will be issued to the credit card that was used to complete the purchase. If we are unable to refund that credit card, you will receive a refund check from the University. 
  • If you paid via cash or check, you will receive a refund check from the University.
  • If you paid with a gift certificate, a replacement gift certificate will be issued. 
  • All refund checks and gift certificates will be mailed to the address we have on file. 
There is no further action needed on your part. The box office will automatically initiate the refund process.

JORGENSEN CENTER CANCELS UPCOMING EVENTS
March 12 - April 4

In efforts to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts will be cancelling seven upcoming performances. "The health and safety of our patrons is our utmost priority as the risk of contracting this virus grows daily," said Rodney Rock, Director of Jorgensen. "While we regreet the need to cancel these events, the decision was an informed one." 

UConn has been working closely with the state Department of Public Health, the state Department of Emergency Mangement and Homeland Security, the Office of the Governor and the Eastern Highlands Health District. Effective Saturday, March 14, UConn has mandated no events larger than 100 people will be permitted on any campus until at least April 6. This includes all events, meetings and performances. 

"The university's goal is to dramatically reduce the number of people who are in close contact on our campuses, with their health and well-being in mind," according to UConn President Tom Katsouleas. 

The following eight Jorgensen Center performances have been cancelled:
