Jamie Tworkowski

Suicide Prevention Week Keynote Speaker

Wed, Sept 27, 7:00 pm

Jamie Tworkowski is the founder of To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. Now a global phenomenon, TWLOHA began as the simple attempt to tell the story of a friend in need, reminding us al that "You are not alone, and this is not the end of your story." In this moving event, Jamie will share his story and that of TWLOHA, followed by a Q&A at the end of the evening.

Supported by bands such as Switchfoot, Anberlin and Paramore, TWLOHA spread quickly throughout the music community. Now, with one of the largest online audiences of any non-profit on Facebook and Twitter, the TWLOHA team has responded to over 180,000 messages and $1.6 million for treatment from 100 countries. TWLOHA has also given over one milion dollars directly to treatment and recovery. The organization has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CBS Sunday Morning, MTV and Rolling Stone Magazine. Most recently, TWLOHA won the one million dollar grand prize in the American Giving Awards presented by Chase.
