Support Jorgensen

Jorgensen thrives through the generosity of its supporters — from dedicated volunteers and donors to arts enthusiasts who give their time, talent, and resources. Programs like the CoStars, Circle of Friends, Lenard Chamber Music Endowment Fund, JOY! Outreach, and the Director’s Fund help sustain performances, educational outreach, and facility growth. Opportunities such as Endowed Sponsorships, the Legacy Circle, and Volunteer Ushers invite everyone to play a meaningful role in preserving and enriching the arts at UConn.

Also a musician, composer, and radio host on Sirius/XM “Symphony Hall” (channel 78), Trombly graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from UConn in 1968. He then attended the Yale University School of Music where he earned a Master of Musical Arts degree in 1972. His original music has been performed extensively in America and Europe and commercially recorded on the Nonesuch and CRI record labels. Since his time at Yale, he has lived and worked in New York City and shifted his focus to the visual arts.

During the academic year, students accepted into the JOY! Conservatory Program participate in a rigorous course of study that may include:

  • Weekly instrumental/vocal lessons with private teacher of choice for one school year.
  • Opportunities, when available, to participate in master classes and ensemble coachings.
  • A chance to perform in a JOY! Conservatory recital.

Additionally, students in the JOY! Conservatory Program receive complimentary access to select professional performances, concerts, recitals, and master classes at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts and the UConn School of Fine Arts in Storrs.
